UCA welcomed six new students this semester, four of which started this week. From the moment they walked into school, their classmates welcomed them in. Friendships were instantly formed, and they are now a part of the family! The third grade class met one of these prospective students when the family toured the school. When they heard she was coming back for a shadow day, they made cards to give her on that day. Now, they are so excited to hang out every day! Even the PreK students have been showing their new classmate the daily routines, helping their new friend feel comfortable. 🤝💜UNITED WE WELCOME. 🤔Our 6th grade scientists conducted hands-on experiments to gather data on how different distances and masses affect the balance of their makeshift fulcrums. 🫀 Mrs. Diamond was "pumped" to guide her anatomy students through a deer heart dissection. With her help, the students navigated the dissection process with precision and safety. Every Monday, these little readers had the chance to explore the shelves and handpick books that ignited their curiosity and sparked their imaginations. 😛😝 7th grade Tasters vs. Non-tasters 😛😝 Mrs. Hanson's students “tasted” test strips with certain food chemicals on them. Thiouria, the bitter taste in cabbage and broccoli, and Sodium Benzoate, a food preservative that usually tastes sweet or salty. 25-30% of the population cannot taste either of these. 🧸😴 What better way to start a week than to wear your pajamas all day!? Pajama Day kicks off our Winter Spirit Week with all kinds of cozy and a little bit of crazy. 🙏🏾At UCA, we strive daily to align our lives with God's purpose and leave our selfish desires behind. Prayer is a central part of this focus. Whether it be the students sharing prayer requests as a class, disciple groups praying for each other, our ministry team praying for their peers as they enter the building, teachers praying with parents at conferences, staff praying for each other during devotions, our leadership praying during meetings...the list could go on.
