Mrs. Berry spoke to our middle and high school students at chapel this week, assuring them that God gave each of them gifts and talents. Her prayer for the students is that they all have eyes to see God's vision. 👀
Her stories were about how she has felt God leading her in her life and how she has invited God to be a part of her adventures. She encourages us all to be obedient. We never know how the Lord will bless us and those around us!

🕯️This week, we held the National Honor Society induction ceremony, where Junior class members were officially inducted. Our NHS officers each spoke on one of the pillars of the society: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Our students in Miss Anderson’s first grade class took a unique approach to learning measurement! Using linking cubes and dominos as trusty measuring tools, they surveyed the room to quantify everything in sight. From the size of their feet 👣 to exploring the dimensions of their friendly classmates and even their classroom furniture 📚, every discovery was met with excitement and curiosity.
Linking cubes and dominos became magical units of measurement, turning a regular math lesson into an adventure of exploration and learning. 🌟

❄️Miss Wilson's 2nd graders and their parents staged an epic snowball fight to finish out 2023! At their Christmas party, the students were told to grab their snowballs and make their plans, but they didn't know about their surprise guests, the Head of School and the Principal!
🛡️⚔️The battle was intense, but all in good fun! Smiles and laughter filled the room as the snowballs were flying. Good sportsmanship was the theme, ending the battle by shaking hands.

Mrs. Aunan helped our 4th grade students get some of their holiday excitement and wiggles out before heading home for Christmas break.🤪 In their Phy Ed class, they participated in “Junk Bowling” and a “Dress your Snowman” relay race.🎳⛄
With each bowling turn, the students tried to knock down as many items of junk as they could. Then, they were collected together in their teams to see who knocked down the most.🏆
Then, a “snowman” was chosen for each team to dress up. Classmates took turns running across the gym to add something to their snowman on each turn. The race was on to create a snowman wearing the most items in the given time.🏃

✝️🏠The UCA House system was established to glorify God and to provide students a dynamic, exciting, and proven way to develop a positive school culture, train leaders, and foster discipleship. It promotes character, academic achievement, school spirit, a family atmosphere, and a sense of belonging.
👩👧👨👦Our Big and Little Buddy program within the house system has highlighted the importance of leadership in our older students. Relationships are formed at the beginning of each year, and strengthened throughout the year as the groups spend time together and build relationships. You can see the confidence grow as relationships are cultivated.

☕☑️The 3rd-grade class invited all of the UCA staff into their classroom, which they had turned into a cozy “Cocoa Cafe.” The cafe was open for business for an hour. For the staff that couldn’t make it, some of the students went to them to take their to-go orders.
🤝This project touched on problem-solving and collaboration skills as the students worked on planning, organizing, advertising, hosting, and serving together.
🙏💜 The friendly and welcoming experience and environment blessed our staff. Way to go, 3rd graders! You are part of the reason that UCA is such a wonderful place!

🚪 🎄 Middle School students gathered into their house groups to decorate doors for Christmas. Each house drew a movie to base its theme on.
🎅 🎨 🖍️ Students collaborated to formulate a plan and execute the artistic masterpieces that portrayed their movie as best they could.
🏆 The winning house was Fide, with Polar Express!

🎄🧑🎄Ugly Christmas sweaters have been plentiful recently!
Students and staff wore them as a way to show the Christmas spirit. In addition, both 5th-grade classes took part in decorating their paper version of an ugly Christmas sweater. Then, other staff members took their turns voting for their favorites.🗳️
🎄🌟Glitter, pom-poms, and tinsel were everywhere, but more importantly, there were smiles on the student's faces as they shared their creativity and the Christmas spirit.
