Resource Department

At United Christian Academy, we believe every child deserves to feel supported, understood, and encouraged in their learning journey. Our Resource Department walks alongside each student with care and compassion, helping them grow in both knowledge and faith. We celebrate the unique ways our students learn and partner closely with parents to ensure every child experiences success and confidence in the classroom.

Support for Students with IEPs

At UCA, we are able to support most Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) designated as Federal Setting 1, where students spend the majority of their day in the general education classroom. Each IEP is thoughtfully reviewed during the application process to ensure we can best meet your child’s needs.

At this time, we are not equipped to provide team-taught classes (a General Education teacher with a Special Education Teacher or Special Education pull out teaching), paraprofessional support, or services for students with high behavioral or intensive social/emotional needs. However, we collaborate closely with the Bloomington school district to coordinate specialized services such as Speech Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and support in specific disability areas when appropriate.

UCA Accommodation Plans

Students currently enrolled at UCA who have a diagnosed disability that significantly impacts classroom performance may qualify for a UCA Accommodation Plan. These plans help our teachers provide a personalized and supportive learning experience, ensuring each child can grow and thrive in their classroom setting. While these plans are not legal documents, our staff is committed to following them to the best of our ability, partnering with families to support each student’s unique needs.
