🇬🇧🇫🇷 Travel Update: London & Paris 🇨🇭🏔️ After the initial travel delay, our high school students have hit the ground running as tourists. They had an incredible time exploring Windsor Castle, taking in its stunning architecture, historic chapel, and beautiful gardens. Many highlighted the chapel, where Queen Elizabeth II is buried, and enjoyed discovering local shops and restaurants in London. 📸 From there, they took a bus tour of Paris, stopping for an unforgettable Eiffel Tower photoshoot before catching a scenic train ride to Zurich. Students spent the journey playing games, chatting, and enjoying the views of France and Switzerland. After a quick stop in Zurich for photos and souvenirs, they headed into the Alps to their chalet hotel in Lucerne—a perfect way to end the day! 🏔️✨ #ucathunder #ucahighschool

🔬🐸 Our 7th grade science students took a hands-on approach to learning this week by dissecting frogs! Through this experience, they explored the intricate anatomy of these amphibians, identifying organs and understanding their functions. This activity not only deepened their knowledge of biological systems but also reminded them that God created everything with a purpose. 🌿🐻Our 2nd graders wrapped up their habitat projects recently and had the exciting opportunity to present their work to students from other classrooms! 🌱🦊 Visitors stopped by to ask questions, and our young experts confidently explained what they had learned about different habitats and the animals that live in them. 🎭 Our 7th grade class, who played the main characters in the recent production, "Faithfully Ever After," wrote a thank you note to the entire staff showing their heart and their appreciation for everyone who helped with the production: "Dear UCA teachers, Thank you all for helping us do this production. We could not have done it without your help. Thank you for taking care of Mrs. Chant with coffee and covering her classes. She is very grateful. Elementary teachers, thank you for keeping your kids quiet and for getting them on the stage for their songs on time. You were very helpful. All Staff, thank you for your flexibility with schedules and for setting up and taking down the set multiple times! 🍀✨Our kindergarteners went on a leprechaun hunt for St. Patrick’s Day, following a series of tricky clues left behind by Tom the Leprechaun! 🧐📜 After reading Fluffy’s Lucky Day, they searched the school and discovered a pot of leprechaun stones! But the magic didn’t stop there—when they placed the stones in vinegar, they bubbled and fizzed away, revealing a gold coin inside! 🪙💚 Each coin led them to a special pot of gold filled with chocolate coins, golden treats, and even leprechaun bubbles. 🌈✨ What a fun and festive way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! #ucaelementary

🏕️ Teacher vs. Students 🏕️ Each day, 3rd grade students in Mrs. Ray’s class compete against Mrs. Ray to earn tallies based on how well they follow classroom procedures. If they outperform their teacher in the morning or afternoon, they get to roll a die for 1-6 points. It’s a long journey to 100 points, but the reward is worth it! 🎉⛺️This time, after weeks of dedication, they finally hit 100 and celebrated with a camping-themed day! Students transformed their desks into tents and spent the entire day learning from their cozy camp spots. What a fun way to reinforce teamwork, responsibility, and a little friendly competition! #ucathunder #ucaelementary

🎼✨ A huge congratulations to a select group of our 5th and 6th grade band students who participated in the MN Junior Winds Honor Band! 🎶 🎺 These talented musicians spent their Saturday morning alongside students from various schools in the South Metro, dedicating four hours to full band rehearsals, sectional rehearsals, and perfecting their performance. 🎳 Our 4th graders have been refining their bowling skills in Phy Ed, but with a fun twist—Cosmic Bowling! 🌌✨ The gym lights were low, the pins were set, and the excitement was high! Instead of traditional scoring, students used a system that tied into other popular childhood games, making it an extra engaging and interactive experience. 🌿🐟🐛Our biology students kicked off an exciting Ecosystem in a Bottle lab! They carefully built and connected both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, adding a minnow, an earthworm, and a cricket to observe how these living organisms interact in their environment. 🌍 Over the next few weeks, they will monitor their ecosystems and explore the cycling of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen—key elements that sustain life. Today in chapel, our elementary principal introduced our new monthly theme: Jehovah Nissi – The Lord is My Banner! ✨ To help illustrate the Bible story, he invited some student helpers on stage for a hands-on demonstration.
