These are familiar stories, adapted by Mrs. Chant and Mrs. Strand, emphasizing a biblical message. 🎭 Earlier this week, our 7th graders were the first to learn what this year’s play would be, as they have the main acting and speaking parts. 🎶🎄 ¡Feliz Navidad! 🎄🎶 Our middle and high school Spanish students brought festive joy to various classrooms, singing beautiful Christmas carols... in Spanish! 🇪🇸🎤 Señorita Luttio guided her students through the learning process to be able to sing several songs for each classroom. Working on pronunciation and grammar, they brought their peers a new level of Christmas spirit. 🎅 🎵 #ucathunder

🚀 🔍 Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in action. Our 6th graders embarked on a scientific adventure with Mr. Pugsley. With creativity and determination, they took on the challenge of designing and testing their very own catapults. 📐📏 The experiment was filled with ups and downs, reminding them of the importance of embracing mistakes as opportunities for growth.🌟 While there were many insightful discussions and innovative adjustments, the best part may have been catapulting marshmallows at their teacher! 👨‍🏫 #ucathunder #ucastem

Mrs. Anderson’s first-grade class delved into a special Bible lesson inspired by the sweet symbolism of the candy cane! 🍬📚 As the children unwrapped the story behind the candy cane, they discovered that its shape holds a powerful message. The shape reminds us of the Staff and that Jesus is our Good Shepherd. Turned upside down, we see the letter “J” for the name of Jesus. Red represents His sacrifice and blood shed, while the white reminds us He is sinless and holy. What a beautiful way to tie in the true meaning of Christmas with a timeless treat! 🎄❤️ They flipped through their Bibles, reading verses that resonated with the significance of the candy cane. It is fun to witness their excitement and curiosity as they connect the dots between scripture and this symbol of faith. 📖 #ucathunder #ucaelementary #ucachristcenterededucation

🖌️🌟Creativity swept through the 4th and 5th-grade classes as Mrs. Joroensen, our beloved library teacher, hosted an exciting contest! Students unleashed their artistic talents, designing bookmarks that showcased their imaginative flair. The winning designs from each class have earned the opportunity to be transformed into actual bookmarks for all our elementary library students to enjoy. 📖🎉 Elementary teachers and specialists participated in a blind vote to select their favorite design from each class. 'Tis the season to decorate Christmas treats! 🍬🎅 These 5th-grade and Kindergarten buddies joined forces to frost sugar cones and sprinkle them with holiday magic, transforming them into adorable Christmas trees. 🎄 Our creative buddies also polished their grammar skills by diving into some Christmas-themed mad libs, adding an extra dash of linguistic fun to their festive collaboration! 📚🤣 #ucathunder #ucaelementary

🕯️💜 The UCA Chapter of the National Honor Society spent Saturday morning helping the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve sort toys and fill orders for children who depend on organizations such as these for a special Christmas gift! 🧸 🪀The NHS students sorted dozens of toys and filled orders to ensure that children all across the Midwest region have a very merry Christmas.🎄 #ucathunder #ucanhs #ucaupperschool
