🧪🔍Our sixth-grade science class delved into the world of chemical reactions! Our curious minds took on the challenge of testing three separate experiments to uncover evidence of these reactions and determine what makes an endothermic or exothermic reaction.
🧂🥄💧They observed closely as they combined yeast with hydrogen peroxide, water with salt, and vinegar with baking soda. Each time, they were eagerly awaiting signs of a chemical reaction. 💥
This introduction has left our young scientists eager to continue exploring the wonders of chemistry together!🤩

👶🍼Mixed emotions in Mrs. Brown’s classroom as last Friday was her final day of teaching for this school year. Our beloved 5th-grade teacher is preparing to welcome her third bundle of joy! The students and parents came together to organize a baby shower to express our gratitude and best wishes for Mrs. Brown and her growing family.
👋🎉As we bid a temporary farewell to Mrs. Brown, we also warmly welcome our new 5th-grade teacher, Mrs. Charlton! This will be a seamless hand-off, as she was with us first semester in the 3rd grade as a student teacher, and we are confident that she will bring a fresh perspective, energy, and passion to our classroom.

🗳️🏛️ Our Civics classes had an unforgettable experience this Tuesday! They visited the precinct polling place at BGU to witness the democratic process in action and fired away with their burning questions. 🤔 Plus, they were able to see an adaptive voting machine - now that's some seriously cool tech! 🤖
They were then given the chance to earn extra credit by visiting their very own polling places. Experiencing democracy firsthand and making their voices heard! 🇺🇸👏

🧼👐Our 7th graders just wrapped up an amazing hands-on experiment! They delved into the world of bacteria and viruses and conducted a super cool handwashing lab.
🦠💡Using glow powder to mimic germs and a black light to unveil the "yuck," they put their hypotheses to the test.
🤔🔬After some serious investigative work, our young scientists discovered that 20-25 seconds of washing with soap, paying particular attention to fingernails, wrists, and the sides of their hands, proved to be the most effective technique.

Thank you to our PreK community who came together to get the job done. Fourteen cubic yards of wood chips were delivered recently to top off our PreK playground area. All of these hard workers tackled this project in less than one hour! They earned their well-deserved snack break!

It’s hard to put into words, but God is moving in this place. ☝️
This week has had its challenges for our middle school students and how they are relating with each other. During today’s chapel service, our MS Dean spoke to the hearts of the students about integrity and consistency, how we view discipline biblically as a loving correction, and that no one has the right to make this place unsafe for someone else (emotionally, physically, mentally…etc.).
The student worship team led their peers through a worship song.
Speaking to the students today was a UCA alumnus. The theme across all grades this month is compassion. His prayer for our students is that they feel so broken by the pain in this world, that they are moved to compassion and to take action.
After hearing those words, our Dean led the students through a time of vulnerability and admitting a peer has hurt them or has been the one to hurt someone else. They were then encouraged to take action and apologize to someone they hurt.

Mrs. Nerdahl’s 4th-grade scientists pretended to stumble upon an uncharted territory and uncover a brand-new species of insect never seen before! 🦗🏞️
Taking their newfound knowledge about insects, they speculated about the unique characteristics of this make-believe creature. From designing its intricate body parts to its peculiar behaviors, and hypothesizing about its habitat and lifestyle.
👏As they shared their unique representations, both in drawings and artistic models, the creativity and excitement in the room was contagious!🤩
