UCA has provided me with so many different leadership opportunities, including house, ministry council, activities council, and NHS. All the teachers have poured into me so much and they've been a huge support throughout the years. This community has helped me grow so much in my faith and taught me how important the people I surround myself with are. UCA is unique because the teachers go out of their way to make personal connections with their students. They put so much more value on your development as a person than your grades. 🎉Whoopie! 🥇💵Mr. Poole’s Personal Finance class celebrated its recent first-place finish in the 10-week Budget Challenge Competition using the Maine dessert delicacy, the whoopie pie. They competed nationally against 66 other schools in an exercise designed to simulate real-world finances. 💳📈They received paychecks and had to pay all their bills, including rent, insurance, cell phone, utilities, etc. while trying to establish an emergency fund, keep their credit card balance below a threshold, and maximize their savings in their 401k accounts. 🏆In the end, when the scores were tallied, UCA was #1, and Mr. Poole delivered on his promise to treat them all to whoopie pies if they won! #ucathunder #ucaupperschool

🪁✨ Soaring High Together! 🎨👫Armed with colorful paper, string, and plenty of imagination, our young kite makers from 5th grade and kindergarten worked hand in hand, each pair of buddies bringing their unique talents and perspectives. But more than just a day of kite making, this special activity fostered bonds that will last a lifetime, bridging the gap between our younger and older students and creating memories to cherish for years to come. 💖 #ucathunder #ucabuddies

UCA has helped develop my character, rooting it deep in the values of Christ. It has also enhanced my social skills and leadership skills, as I have had many opportunities to lead and serve on various councils. My experience has prepared me for the next stage of life as I can use the skills that I gained here in college, and when I start my own business someday. UCA creates unique opportunities to get involved in school government. Also, teachers genuinely care about your growth, not just educationally, but spiritually. One of the things that I will miss most is being able to see my friends on a daily basis. 👮‍♂️📚Our preK students spent last week learning about various community helpers and these everyday heroes' vital roles in our lives. They've learned about the bravery of police officers who keep us safe, the knowledge and assistance librarians provide, the care and compassion nurses offer, and the creativity and nourishment chefs bring.🏥👩‍🍳 Real-life helpers from our community visited the classroom, sharing their experiences, answering questions, and even demonstrating some of their skills. 🏘️ No matter how big or small, everyone has a role to play in making our world a better place! #ucathunder #ucaprek

Attending UCA has not only gotten me out of my comfort zone but pushed me to be a leader and the best version of myself. Something that is unique about the UCA experience is the smaller and more personal class sizes as well as the ability to honor and worship God in school. I have been going to UCA for only two years but have never felt so cared for by the students and staff around me. My experience here made a positive impact on me by teaching me life lessons and social skills. One thing about UCA that’s unique is the community here. Everyone is welcoming and it doesn’t feel like you’re at a stereotypical “cliquey” school. UCA has impacted my life tremendously. I have only been attending UCA for two years and have made connections that will last a lifetime. I have learned that leadership is key in life and following and worshipping God is key for life. Something that is different at UCA than other schools is that they make you feel like you matter and have a purpose. They care about you and want to help you as soon as trouble appears. But also the way that teachers connect with you and want to help you even beyond getting a diploma. I will definitely miss seeing all my classmates every day and the friendships I have made along my path at UCA. 🧑‍💻Our STEM Expo was an amazing event Tuesday night! 👩‍🔬 The students were so excited to share the fruits of their labors for the past few months. The projects were classified into different categories, and each presentation was judged by parent volunteers who work in various STEM industries. This led to winners in each category and an overall favorite that was voted on by the friends and family members who came out to support our students. #ucathunder #ucastem

I've been fortunate to win the Presidential Gold scholarship that will pay for my college alongside an art scholarship at Concordia college in Moorhead, MN. This college will also allow me to study abroad in China, and continue to pursue my art and music passions. I have been fortunate to be at the legacy school Bethany Academy and now UCA for 13 years. Over the years, I have had a wonderful collective of teachers that have not only cared about me academically, but spiritually, and mentally. Having teachers take the time to pray for their students is a gift. UCA is not just a school but a Christ-centered community where students are known. I will forever be grateful for my time here. I will miss all of the wonderful teachers who have poured into me over the years. From Mr. Poole giving trumpet wisdom and inviting me to play with him to Mrs. Mi sharing her faith and cultivating my Chinese skills. 🤝 🏅This is the second year that UCA has formed a co-op partnership with three other schools to form a boys and girls track and field team. Our participation this year has significantly increased, with over 20 athletes ranging from 7th to 12th graders. 👟🏃‍♂️Earlier this week was the first Varsity meet of the season where some of our athletes hit the ground running... and jumping! 👏 Good luck this season! #ucathunder #ucaathletics

UCA has impacted me by providing an environment to grow in my faith by both learning Biblical knowledge and by being given opportunities to put it into practice. I have especially appreciated the leadership and serving opportunities, as those are what have helped me realize that I want to pursue full-time ministry in the future. Something that's really special about UCA is that I feel genuinely seen and cared for by each and every one of my teachers. They are constantly investing, encouraging, and supporting students, and I am super thankful for all that they do.
