UCA has had an extremely positive impact on me in many ways. UCA has taught me always to put God first. It has helped me grow in my faith significantly. It has taught me many important life lessons, both academically and spiritually. The teachers are extremely connected and invested in their student's success, both academically and spiritually. 📖✍️UCA provides a strong academic foundation, beginning in early elementary. One highlight is our Groves Method Literacy Curriculum for our K-3rd grade students. Groves is a multi-modal approach to teaching reading, so students learn a systematic way to read, spell, form letters, capitalize, and understand morphology (the forms of words). Groves focuses on the four pillars of reading: phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. 📚All of our Groves instructors do daily small-group instruction to support students who need extra practice or fluency practice. Groves is a three-tiered approach, so we also have amazing intervention teachers who pull students multiple times per week to give them extra support. This greatly impacts our students who have had Groves since Kindergarten and even those coming in new to the program. #ucathunder #ucaelementary

🦴Our high school science classes finished out the year strong with dissections. 🐀 🐖 Juniors and seniors in Anatomy class used rats, and sophomores in biology used fetal pigs. All classes studied God’s creation using comparative anatomy. Even a senior came back to the classes to support his sophomore buddies! #ucathunder #ucastem

🇺🇸Who is the greatest American? Ask our Freshman history students! Starting in March, each of Mr. Hendrickson’s 9th grade American History classes held a draft to choose who they believe deserves this title. 📂Using accurate and scholarly sources to build a case for their American, they presented their case to the class. Each round they added more sources and more information. They also argued why their opponent was not the greatest American. 🗳️Students took part in the voting process of each round, voting for who they thought should move on. It came down to Ben Franklin vs. Harriet Tubman, with Harriet coming out on top! This project allows the students to learn about certain parts of U.S. history in a short amount of time. Plus, the students can be creative, have fun with history, and add their own thoughts about people's impact on our country. #ucathunder #ucahighschool

Something unique about my UCA experience is the relationships I formed with the teachers. The teachers are my favorite part of UCA because you get to know each other on a personal level, and it feels like they are not only your teachers but friends. NOW ENROLLING! 🖍️ UCA offers a Bible-centered, play-based Pre-K education. Through play and exploring God's world, children will learn to appreciate their Creator, develop relationships, and enhance their creativity and problem solving skills while being prepared for their academic years. Our Pre-K program is licensed by the State of Minnesota. Each of our teachers holds a four-year degree in Early Childhood Education and has over twenty years of teaching experience. 🏐👧👦Our younger students recently hit the court for a special volleyball clinic led by the boy's and girls' high school teams! 😲✏️Today was a very exciting afternoon for Miss Anderson's first graders. When they returned from lunch, they discovered their pencils had gone on strike! ✍️The kids had to write a letter to them to convince them to come back. They quickly realized they took their pencils for granted, as erasing with a marker or pen does not work. Some kids decided to read their letters to the class to be even more convincing. 👏We are happy to report that after the pencils heard the heartfelt letters, they decided to return to their jobs for the rest of the year! 🎉
