🍽️ Throughout the week, our middle school classes take turns being the clean-up crew after lunch. Today, it was our 7th-grade boys who jumped in to get the job done! Wiping the tables down, folding them up, and tucking them away in the storage closet so that the space can be used for our phy ed classes.🧽🪣 We’re so proud of their willingness to help out, showing responsibility and teamwork. 🏅 Congratulations to Colin, our first Athlete of the Week for the winter season! 🏀 Colin had a big second half for JV in their game against Hope Academy for a tough win. He had a huge block, knocked down a big three, and had the game-clinching assist on the inbounds play in the JV game. Then, on Tuesday, he stepped in and played some important minutes for Varsity in their game against Concordia Academy. Way to go, Colin! Keep up the fantastic work! 👏💪 #ucathunder #ucaathletics

🎈🎉Our 3rd graders dove into history last week by learning about Tony Sarg, the creative mind behind the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons. Inspired by his ingenuity, they crafted their own parade balloons to showcase during Special Person’s Day! Each student proudly introduced themselves to our guests, sharing their creativity and the story behind their unique balloons. They enjoyed delicious treats, festive activities, and quality time with friends and teachers, all while learning about gratitude and thankfulness. Mrs. Larson's calculus class had an incredible field trip to Seagate recently, diving into the fascinating world of engineering and technology! Students learned about the production and testing of disc drives while discovering the variety of engineering fields that make it all possible. 🖥️🔧✨ Thanks to Mrs. Larson’s husband, Nate, for leading the tour! 💰🛍️Our 1st-grade class dove into the world of economics, learning about goods, services, consumers, and producers! Each student created their own "good" to sell—ranging from keychains and stuffed animals to popcorn and more! The next day, they became entrepreneurs, opening their own "stores" to sell their creations to classmates. They also took turns as consumers, using linking cubes as currency to purchase items from their peers. 🛒🎉 #ucathunder #ucaelementary

Digging into Learning! 🌱🍪 Mrs. Ray's 3rd graders got hands-on with soil science by creating edible soil layers! Using cookies, crackers, pudding, green sprinkles, and even a gummy worm, they explored the different layers of soil—from topsoil to bedrock. Last Friday, our students participated in Missions Day projects, teaming up with their big/little buddies to serve and make a difference together! From packing meals to creating care packages, their teamwork and compassion were on full display. It’s such a blessing to see students of all ages working side by side, putting their faith into action, and learning the joy of serving others. 💜 Together, the students accomplished: 🦃 Assembling 198 Thanksgiving Bags for military families in collaboration with the "Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Hero Meals Program ❄️ Assembling 450 Winter Care Kits for the Homeless 🎨 Making 200 Craft items/Table Favors for Nursing Home Residents #ucathunder #ucahousesystem #ucamissions

🗣️ Ms. Luttio had two friends come and talk to her high school Spanish classes recently. Karla is Guatemalan and Jaylyn is a missionary to Guatemala. 🇬🇹 Ms. Luttio met them both through a ministry called Breaking Cycles, which she started working with in 2016. They both talked about the ministry of Breaking Cycles and gave a little bit of their testimonies. It was great for the students to hear Karla only speak Spanish to them and to hear how the Lord has used Jaylyn's Spanish in her everyday ministry down in Guatemala. 🙏 🙌 #ucathunder #ucahighschool

🔬Biology cell-ebration! 🦠 Our biology students wrapped up their comprehensive cell unit with a sweet twist: a cookie decorating competition! 🍪 Students put their creativity to work, either solo or in teams, to design prokaryotic (bacteria) cells or plant cells using frosting and sprinkles. It was a fun and delicious way to reinforce everything they’ve learned about cell structures! 🧬 #ucathunder #ucastem #ucahighschool

Fall Fundraising Success! 🎉 💰 We are pleased to announce that all the pledges have been collected from our Inaugural Jog-A-Thon, and our elementary kiddos raised an impressive $18, 570.24!!! Our initial plans for these funds are to make some much-needed updates to our curriculum. 📚 🏅 Various awards were given to the students for the most money raised, and the most laps run overall and per classroom. We also awarded the "Super Class" title to the classroom that raised the most money on average per student. Congratulations go to Mr. Geselle's 3rd grade classroom! 🏆 Thank you to everyone who supported this event by praying, volunteering, and donating. Our physics students have been diving into the study of projectile motion by designing and building their own catapults. Using principles of velocity, force, and trajectory, they experimented with different launch angles and calculated the optimal conditions to maximize distance and accuracy. #ucathunder #ucastem #ucahighschool
