📐🪁Our geometry students have successfully wrapped up their unit on quadrilaterals and polygons. They went beyond textbooks to showcase their newfound knowledge and created their very own kites! The challenge was on to ensure their kites had the perfect balance of angles and sides.
🤓Applying everything they learned in hands-on experiments as well as creating a word problem to go with their kite project, these students are well-rounded and headed for the skies!

Our PreK students are learning about dinosaurs in their classroom, but when they heard that the principal has dinosaur toys in his office…a field trip was in their future!
❓They asked questions, shared their own dino knowledge, and even had the chance to touch and feel the toy dinosaurs!

💯 Yesterday was our 100th day of school for this year, and our Kindergarten and 1st-grade students celebrated this milestone with excitement!
👣 First graders practiced counting by ones and tens all the way to 100. They estimated how far they would get with 100 footprint cut-outs. And to top it off, they dressed up as 100-year-old people!
🔎Kindergarteners spent the day pretending to be secret agents, trying to solve a mystery. They were cracking codes, finding clues, practicing counting to 100, and more. Their day ended with a special visit from "Zero the Hero."

🍚🫘The mission trip team is selling rice and beans during lunch at the high school this week. They are raising money to support our school sponsorship student, Juan, from the Dominican Republic. 🇩🇴
We also hope to start supporting a scholarship student through the organization Provee, which we will be working with while we go to Guatemala in the Spring. 🇬🇹

🔥🤔 Fierce House Rivalries: Our students represented their respective houses with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. From Genesis to Revelation, they dove into the depths of biblical knowledge, showcasing their understanding of scripture with passion and dedication. It was inspiring to see them apply critical thinking skills, recalling verses, and reflecting on the significance of the scriptures.

🪡Ms. Caron's Chemistry class tested their sewing skills to enhance their learning about moles.
⚛️They study the mole on the atomic level. But to really understand how big a mole is, they created equations to compare a mole of an everyday object to something on a large scale, like the circumference of Jupiter. They made their own moles and created dioramas to show how the mole relates to the actual size.

UCA welcomed six new students this semester, four of which started this week. From the moment they walked into school, their classmates welcomed them in. Friendships were instantly formed, and they are now a part of the family!
The third grade class met one of these prospective students when the family toured the school. When they heard she was coming back for a shadow day, they made cards to give her on that day. Now, they are so excited to hang out every day!
Even the PreK students have been showing their new classmate the daily routines, helping their new friend feel comfortable.
